General Muhurat is location and date based. Personalized Muhurat adds your birth Moon's Janma Nakshatra and compares it with the Nakshatra operating inside each auspicious window. This helps identify which otherwise-good window is more personally supportive.

A Shubh Muhurat is an auspicious time selected for beginning an important activity. For everyday planning, commonly used daily Muhurat systems include Abhijit Muhurat and Choghadiya. Because Sunrise and Sunset vary by location and date, these timings should be calculated for the actual city rather than copied from a fixed timetable.
Abhijit is the central daytime Muhurta. This calculator divides the local Sunrise-to-Sunset interval into 15 equal parts and uses the eighth part as Abhijit. Wednesday is flagged separately because traditional Muhurat practice generally does not recommend Abhijit on Wednesday. Abhijit is also not a substitute for ceremony-specific Vivah or Upanayana Muhurat.
Daytime is divided into eight equal Choghadiya periods. Amrit, Shubh and Labh are treated as favourable for general auspicious work. Char is neutral and traditionally useful for movement or travel, while Rog, Kaal and Udveg are avoided. This page also removes overlaps with Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika before presenting the clean general windows.
The personalized section first calculates the birth Moon's Janma Nakshatra with Lahiri sidereal astrology. It then calculates the transit Moon Nakshatra operating inside each clean Muhurat window. The Nakshatra relationship is classified through the ninefold Tara Bala cycle - Janma, Sampat, Vipat, Kshema, Pratyari, Sadhaka, Naidhana, Mitra and Param Mitra. Astro Nilmani's personalized layer additionally highlights an exact Janma Nakshatra match as a special personal match while still showing the classical Tara Bala category separately.
A general Muhurat can be good for the public at a location, but a person's birth Nakshatra can make one of several available windows more suitable than the others. This tool therefore keeps the two layers separate: first it finds clean general timings, then it ranks those timings against the person's Janma Nakshatra. For marriage, Griha Pravesh, property purchase and other major ceremonies, event-specific rules should also be applied.
It depends on the date and location. Select your city and date to see Abhijit Muhurat, Choghadiya and the clean general windows after Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika are considered.
Amrit, Shubh and Labh are commonly treated as auspicious. Char is generally neutral or useful for travel. Rog, Kaal and Udveg are avoided for important auspicious beginnings.
Abhijit is widely used for general auspicious work, but Wednesday is traditionally treated as an exception. It is also not used as a substitute for specialised marriage Muhurat.
The calculator finds your Janma Nakshatra from your birth Moon and compares it with the Nakshatra operating during each clean Muhurat window through Tara Bala.
They are the eighth and ninth positions in the ninefold Tara Bala cycle and are classically treated as good. This page also identifies Sampat, Kshema and Sadhaka as favourable categories.
Use it as a daily timing guide, but important ceremonies need additional event-specific Muhurat rules. Dedicated Vivah, Griha Pravesh, vehicle and property pages are linked above.
