Kaal Sarp Dosha, also called Kala Sarpa Yoga or Kalsarp Dosh, is commonly checked when all seven classical planets are located on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis in the natal chart. Rahu and Ketu are always opposite, so they divide the zodiac into two 180-degree halves. This calculator checks both halves mathematically rather than assuming the yoga from the presence of the nodes alone.
Astro Nilmani reports a complete configuration only when all seven planets are in the same half of the Rahu-Ketu axis. If six planets are enclosed and one is outside, the result is shown as a near enclosure, not automatically promoted to a complete Kaal Sarp Dosha. This helps avoid over-diagnosis.
